Program Manager — Payments Technology (PM–PT) at LevelField Bank
Redefine Banking with Us
LevelField Bank, post-acquisition an FDIC-insured community bank, is transforming the financial landscape by prioritizing innovation and embracing the possibilities of digital assets. We are seeking experienced professionals to join our Technology team and help shape the future of banking. If you’re passionate about delivering exceptional experiences and eager to dive into the world of digital assets, this is your opportunity to make an impact.
Your Role
As the Program Manager, Payments Technology (PM–PT), you will be responsible for delivering and evolving the bank’s payments ecosystem—including ACH, wire, card, and real-time payment capabilities. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you will coordinate across the core banking SaaS provider, payment-network providers, integration teams, and internal business units to ensure that all payment channels operate securely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry and regulatory requirements.
Payments Technology is a dynamic, high-velocity domain. You will balance speed and innovation with the discipline required to manage risk, reconciliation, and network reliability. By aligning vendors and internal teams, you will enable the bank to offer modern, frictionless payment experiences while maintaining strong operational control.
Location: This is a fully on-site position in Houston, TX. The role depends on close collaboration with business and technology partners, which is best achieved through in-person engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Champion our brand: Embody LevelField’s innovative culture, fostering trust and enthusiasm for our modern payment solutions.
Manage payments delivery: Oversee ACH, wire, card, and real-time payment initiatives to ensure secure, reliable, and timely processing.
Coordinate across payment networks: Align internal systems and third-party providers with changing market and network standards.
Ensure operational readiness: Oversee implementation of testing, controls, and reconciliation to maintain accuracy and uptime.
Monitor performance and risk: Track key metrics for transaction volume, latency, and exception rates, escalating issues promptly.
Engage with vendors and integrators: Partner with payment processors, card networks, and internal technology teams for seamless delivery.
Manage project budgets: Collaborate with the Director of the PMO to maintain financial control and transparency across all payment initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
Stay ahead of trends: Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, regulatory requirements, and operational risks affecting the business.
Work collaboratively: Partner across teams to continuously improve the department’s effectiveness and strengthen alignment between Technology and other business functions.
Think like an owner: Contribute ideas that enhance processes, improve customer experiences, and drive the bank’s strategic growth.
Perform other related duties as needed: Support additional initiatives or responsibilities consistent with the scope and purpose of the role.
About You
You are an experienced program manager who thrives on bringing structure, clarity, and momentum to complex technology deliveries. You excel at coordinating diverse contributors—business leaders, vendors, and integration partners—to deliver high-quality products on schedule and within budget. You are comfortable managing programs that rely on configuration and integration rather than in-house software development, and you know how to keep third-party teams aligned with business priorities and governance standards.
You bring:
A minimum of 7 years of experience managing technology programs or large projects within financial services. Experience with banking payments technology is strongly desired.
Demonstrated success coordinating multi-vendor or SaaS-based implementations, with strong command of integration and configuration management.
Proven ability to translate business objectives into executable delivery plans and to maintain focus on value, schedule, and cost.
Excellent organizational and communication skills—able to build consensus across business, technology, and vendor teams.
Sound financial discipline, including budget planning, variance tracking, and post-implementation review.
A commitment to continuous improvement and to working within the PMO’s governance frameworks to strengthen delivery practices across the technology organization.
Experience with Agile and hybrid project methodologies, and the judgment to tailor them appropriately to the scope and urgency of each initiative.
You bring calm leadership to high-visibility programs, ensuring that complex integrations and aggressive timelines are handled with control, transparency, and professionalism.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first year, payment initiatives are executed with precision and reliability.
New capabilities—such as real-time and card payment programs—are delivered on time and within budget.
Baselines for transaction processing stability and reconciliation errors have been established, and vendors operate with accountability.
Executives trust your reporting and rely on your structured coordination to drive ongoing augmentation and modernization of the bank’s payments technology.
