Your Role

As an AML investigator, you will be part of the core competency of LevelField Bank: supporting higher compliance customers through their banking journey. You will represent our mission to integrate digital assets into mainstream banking. Our AML investigators will support various Anti-Money Laundering (AML) processes, adhering to policies and procedures for AML, BSA, OFAC, and USA PATRIOT Act regulations. for our various lines of business, which might include suspicious activity investigations, reporting, enhanced due diligence, or other AML processes. Our ideal team members will possess AML and investigation/research experience. In addition, strong written communication skills are highly desired.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion Our Brand: Embody LevelField’s innovative culture, fostering trust and enthusiasm for our cutting-edge banking solutions.

  • Review system generated alerts to assess presence of illicit activity that may require reporting based on Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/AML requirements, gather and analyze detailed data related to alerted transactions and associated entities to identify unusual patterns or risks, and document detailed results

  • Review system generated alerts, ad hoc alerts and departmental referrals, and address other applicable AML processes in accordance with regulations and time limitations

  • Analyze transaction patterns across dollar and cryptocurrency accounts to detect suspicious activities, such as unusual volume, frequency, or counterparties.

  • Identify risk indicators, such as money laundering red flags, sanctions exposure, etc., using analytical skills and escalate as necessary for further review or reporting.

  • Document investigative results in written format; provide sufficient research to support investigative decisions

  • Complete and validate quality Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in accordance with procedures through Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN)

  • Escalate issues as appropriate for advanced investigation and analysis

Additional Responsibilities

  • Work Collaboratively: Collaborate with the team to continuously improve the department and the bank.

  • Think Like an Owner: Contribute ideas to improve processes, enhance customer experiences, and drive the bank’s growth.

  • Additional Responsibilities as Needed

Qualifications

  • Passion for revolutionizing banking and embracing digital asset innovation.

  • 3+ years of related AML experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

  • Entry level to intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.

  • Entry level to intermediate knowledge of general banking operation and commercial banking products and services.

  • Knowledge of CTRs, SARs, and OFAC.

  • Experience using BSA/AML transaction monitoring and/or case management software required.

  • Strong speaking and writing communication skills

  • A team-oriented mindset with a drive to build something extraordinary.

  • Digital asset knowledge preferred, but not required
